A family history of this condition may indicate an increased risk for this condition. For patients, there is no treatment for adrenocortical carcinoma.

Symptoms of adrenocortical cancer can include the following: pelvic pain, aching joints, fever, and fatigue. Other symptoms may occur as a result of the cancer or other ailment. If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s recommended that you seek medical attention. There is no cure for adrenocortical cancer, but the right treatment can help prevent its recurrence.

A majority of adrenocortical cancers are benign and nonfunctioning. These are tumors that are less than four centimeters in diameter. Adenomas are masses of abnormally growing adrenal epithelial cells. They are not cancerous, but may spread. Besides being benign, adrenocortical carcinomas can cause a number of other symptoms.
