You’ll want to know the signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer so you can seek medical attention right away. While some of these symptoms are common to all types of cancer, others are specific to this disease. For example, a high temperature may be one of the first signs of pancreatic cancer. Indigestion is another symptom. Although this is common for most people, persistent indigestion is cause for concern. Additionally, blood clots can be one of the signs of pancreatic cancer. These can develop in smaller veins and deep veins in the legs.

If you’re experiencing pancreatic cancer symptoms, your GP will first recommend a CT scan to look at the areas affected. These images will also evaluate the functioning of the liver and kidneys. They may also order blood tests to check for CA19.9 protein, which is used to detect cancer. Your GP will discuss treatment options with you and other health professionals at a multidisciplinary team meeting. Your GP will refer you to a surgeon and endocrinologist if you experience any of these symptoms. Ultrasound and CT scans can also be used to get an accurate picture of the pancreas.

Because of its advanced stage, pancreatic cancer can cause symptoms that are similar to those of other diseases. Symptoms of pancreatic cancer, for example, include a pain in the abdomen, loss of liver function, and a lump under the ribcage. Other general pancreatic cancer symptoms include severe back pain and pale faeces. While these symptoms are not always indicative of pancreatic cancer, they’re worth checking out as they may be signs of something else.

Another symptom of pancreatic cancer is jaundice. This is a symptom of excess bilirubin in the blood. When a pancreatic tumor blocks this duct, bile cannot flow to the small intestine. The blockage in the bile duct may lead to a buildup of bilirubin in the blood. People who have jaundice may also have abdominal pain, itchiness, and light or clay-colored stools.

Pain is the most common symptom of pancreatic cancer, although this is not always the most common. In general, pain is most common in the body of the pancreas, but it can also spread to the back and lymph nodes. Pancreatic cancer often causes no noticeable symptoms until it has spread to the other parts of the body. However, this cancer can affect other parts of the body, including the lymph nodes and the digestive system.

Exposure to heavy alcohol is another risk factor. Heavy alcohol consumption increases the risk of pancreatic cancer by about 20 percent. Also, older age is a risk factor, as two-thirds of those diagnosed with the disease are over the age of 55. Additionally, people who are African-American have a higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer than those of other races. Approximately 10 percent of people who have pancreatic cancer have no known risk factors. However, some individuals who inherit a defective gene can develop the disease.

Although the symptoms of pancreatic cancer are vague, many other medical conditions may cause the same symptoms. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact a physician immediately. Jaundice is the most common symptom of pancreatic cancer and occurs when the pancreas duct is blocked, preventing bile from flowing into the small intestine. Jaundice can also occur in the absence of any other symptoms.

A biopsy is often the first step in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Depending on the stage of the cancer, doctors can perform surgery to remove the affected pancreas or lymph nodes in the area. Other treatments include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. Targeted therapies target specific cancer cells and cause less damage to healthy tissue. Patients who experience a biopsy may undergo several treatments, ranging from surgery to chemotherapy.

A blood clot in a large vein may be another symptom of pancreatic cancer. This symptom is known as deep vein thrombosis, and can cause pain, swelling, and redness. Patients may also experience chest pain as a result of a blood clot in their intestines. These symptoms should be investigated by a physician as soon as possible. In some cases, the symptoms of pancreatic cancer may be delayed until the disease has spread to the lymph nodes.

Besides pain, inflammation, and a swollen pancreas are other signs of the disease. Pancreatic cancer symptoms can include a host of other symptoms. A physician may recommend a biopsy to determine whether the condition is cancerous or not. It is best to seek medical advice to rule out other serious illnesses. Pancreatic cancer is often a fatal disease and early detection improves survival rates.
