Some of the symptoms of Gastric Cancer may be confused with other diseases. It is vital to get an accurate diagnosis to ensure that you’re not suffering from an unrelated condition. Physical exam symptoms, such as pain, swelling and a full or swollen stomach, should be carefully examined by a doctor. Pain may be mild and gradual at first, but it can grow in intensity as the disease advances. Here are some of the most common symptoms of Gastric Cancer.

Almost half of the cohort reported upper abdominal pain or regurgitation. Another half reported a burning sensation. While the majority of participants reported one or more of the symptoms, some also experienced several. Symptoms of anaemia, fatigue and early satiety were also reported by a significant number of participants. A gastric cancer diagnosis should be made as soon as possible after any of these symptoms. The first step is to determine the causes of the discomfort.

While few data are available from patients with gastric or oesophageal cancer, many patients experience multiple symptoms before seeking help. Many patients refer to these symptoms as indigestion or reflux. National campaign studies have emphasized heartburn as one of the first symptoms. However, patients’ understanding of the underlying symptom is variable. It is therefore important to discuss symptoms with patients. They will likely be more likely to seek treatment if they are self-aware of their condition.

Earlier gastric cancer detection can save lives. The shorter the time between the onset of gastric cancer symptoms and the diagnosis, the better the prognosis. However, some symptoms have a greater prognostic value than others. For this reason, the longer the symptoms persist, the worse the prognosis. However, it is still important to recognize the signs and symptoms of gastric cancer. The symptoms of gastric cancer are often difficult to notice until the disease has spread to the intestines.

Early-stage cancer symptoms may be indistinguishable from benign dyspepsia. More aggressive cases may have alarm symptoms. Dysphagia, weight loss and a palpable mass are all symptoms of gastric cancer, which may indicate a definite diagnosis. These symptoms also reflect the stage and site of the tumour, and may help predict how aggressive the cancer will be. Some patients may have symptoms for a long time, while others may have no symptoms at all.

As with many other types of cancer, stomach cancer can be cured with early diagnosis. If detected early, stomach cancer is almost always curable. Treatment is usually a combination of drugs and surgery, or it may require radiation therapy. For asymptomatic stomach cancer, surgery is the best choice. However, if a patient is suffering from any of these symptoms, it is advisable to consult a doctor. The sooner treatment begins, the better the chances of recovery.
