If you notice that you’ve developed any of these Gastric Cancer Symptoms, you should seek immediate medical attention. While very small tumors do not cause symptoms at the earliest stages of the disease, as the cancer progresses, swallowing becomes difficult. This is because the esophagus becomes narrower due to the growth of the cancer. Symptoms of cancer in this area include heartburn, indigestion, choking, coughing, weight loss, and vomiting.

Stage I stomach cancer has not spread to any distant organs yet. It has spread to the deeper layers of the stomach but has not yet spread to nearby lymph nodes. However, in stage II stomach cancer has spread to nearby organs and lymph nodes. It is highly unlikely to spread to distant organs. In this stage, surgery may be required to remove the cancer. For stage III stomach cancer, chemotherapy and radiation therapy will most likely be used to shrink the tumor and kill the cancer after surgery.

Some of the Gastric Cancer Symptoms may be common in other conditions and be mistaken for other diseases. Physical examination is a good way to determine if you’re experiencing any of these symptoms. Generally, symptoms may range from mild discomfort to severe pain. The pain may start mildly and increase over time. However, it should never be ignored or overlooked as it could be a sign of a more serious condition.

Your doctor will do a physical exam to determine the extent of your cancer. In some cases, the doctor may perform an endoscopy, which involves passing a thin, lighted tube through your mouth. The endoscope may take a biopsy or other samples for examination. If the cancer has spread to deeper layers, a CT scan will be required to determine whether it has spread to other organs. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.

Treatment options for gastric cancer will depend on the stage of the disease. The earlier it is detected, the greater the chances of a successful outcome. However, treatment options may vary depending on the size of the tumor, the extent of spread to lymph nodes, and the condition of the patient. The most common treatment for gastric cancer is surgery. During this procedure, the surgeon will remove a portion of the stomach or even the entire gastric region. In addition to removing the tumor, the lymph nodes around the tumor will usually be removed as well.

Various alarm symptoms may be signs of gastric cancer. These include epigastric pain, dyspepsia, weight loss, abdominal mass, and nausea and vomiting. However, they can also be indicative of another condition. Diagnosis for gastric cancer depends on the symptoms reported by the patients. Early detection, correct interpretation of these symptoms, and timely referral for further investigation can greatly reduce the time it takes to find cancer.

Although most patients don’t experience any early signs of the disease, it’s vital to visit the doctor as soon as possible. The symptoms of gastric cancer are similar to those of ulcer or infection, and should not be dismissed without medical attention. Symptoms of gastric cancer may be a sign of a more serious condition. In addition to the above mentioned symptoms, the patient may also experience other diseases that affect the digestive system.

A gastroscopy examination is necessary when suspected of having gastric cancer. This procedure helps the doctor identify suspicious features of the tumor and to take a biopsy for histological confirmation. A gastroscopy examination usually lasts about 10 minutes. The usual screening test for gastric lesions is an X-ray of the stomach, which is taken after a barium meal. Other tests, which can help to determine the clinical stage of gastric cancer, include X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and endoscopic ultrasound.

Among newly diagnosed patients, the most common symptoms were dysphagia (pain or difficulty swallowing). The disease was the second leading cause of dysphagia. More than half of the participants in this study also reported burning sensations in their chest or stomach. A study conducted by the Be Clear on Cancer campaign described dysphagia as the most common symptom of gastric cancer, while oesophageal cancer patients reported experiencing it the most frequently.

A family history of the disease increases the risk of developing the condition. A history of the disease in either parent increases the risk of developing the disease in the affected individual. In rare cases, an individual with a family history of stomach cancer has an increased risk of developing the disease. Despite the risk factors for developing this cancer, a proper diagnosis is important to prevent a serious medical condition. Symptoms should prompt immediate medical attention.
