Most people do not notice their gallbladder cancer symptoms until the disease has progressed, so a thorough knowledge of symptoms is crucial. However, if you suspect you are suffering from gallbladder cancer, there are some warning signs you should be aware of. For example, abdominal pain is common among gallbladder cancer patients, especially those in the upper right abdomen. In addition to abdominal pain, you may also experience jaundice, a condition where too much bilirubin is in the blood. This condition makes your urine and skin look yellowish or gray.

Your doctor may perform a CT scan, which uses X-rays to take detailed images of your internal organs. During this procedure, your doctor may inject a dye into a vein or swallow it to help organs and tissues show up more clearly. MRI and CT scans are two other tests your doctor may use to diagnose your gallbladder cancer. A diagnostic laparoscopy is another important test. In this test, your doctor inserts a thin tube containing a camera into your abdominal cavity. Your doctor will then view the contents of the gallbladder, including the bile duct, to see if the cancer has spread.

Stages of gallbladder cancer are classified according to the stage of the disease. Stage 0 is a tumor that is contained within the gallbladder and has not spread to nearby organs or lymph nodes. Stage III is a tumor that has spread beyond the gallbladder and has invaded nearby muscle, connective tissue, or serosa. It can also spread to the liver and surrounding structures, including lymph nodes.

The symptoms of gallbladder cancer are often difficult to detect in its early stages, as the disease is not immediately apparent. Usually, it only appears as the disease progresses. However, it is possible to identify an early-stage gallbladder cancer by chance. The symptoms of gallbladder cancer may be similar to the symptoms of gallstones, which often appear only after the disease has progressed.

There are various risk factors for gallbladder cancer, but none of them is known to increase the likelihood of the condition. Although there is no known risk factor for gallbladder cancer, older age and primary sclerosing cholangitis are associated with an increased risk of developing the disease. Chronic cholecystitis is another risk factor for gallbladder cancer, but it is very rare in the U.S.

While gallbladder cancer is rare, it is dangerous when it is detected late. As many other types of cancer show warning signs early, it is imperative to seek medical care early. If you notice these signs, you should seek medical attention and have your gallbladder removed if necessary. However, many cases of gallbladder cancer are fatal if not diagnosed in time. Symptoms of gallbladder cancer can include jaundice, which is characterized by yellow skin and eyes.

Another risk factor for gallbladder cancer is abdominal bloating. Although there are many causes of abdominal bloating, excessive bloating is often a sign of gallbladder cancer. A physical exam should focus on your abdomen to check for swelling, lumps, or any buildup of fluid. If these are present, it is highly likely that you are suffering from gallbladder cancer. A physical exam will also detect other possible signs of gallbladder disease.

If your cancer has spread to at least 3 lymph nodes in your abdomen, you may have gallbladder cancer. However, in some cases, it has spread to two or more organs outside of the liver. Consequently, it may be difficult for you to detect the disease by yourself. Your physician will need to examine your body and decide on the best course of treatment. In either case, you should visit a cancer specialist as soon as possible.

Besides these warning signs, you may also have certain conditions that increase the risk of gallbladder cancer. Some of these conditions include chronic inflammation, infection, and bile ducts. You should see your doctor if you suspect that you may be suffering from gallbladder cancer. A gallbladder biopsy is necessary to diagnose the disease and determine whether or not it has spread. If it does, it can spread to other parts of the body and cause symptoms.

In addition to symptoms, you should be aware of the type of chemotherapy that your doctor uses to treat the cancer. Treatment usually consists of using drugs that kill cancer cells. These may be injected into the body or taken orally. Examples of chemotherapy drugs include gemcitabine, capecitabine, cisplatin, and oxaliplatin. Side effects of chemo drugs include nausea, easy bruising, mouth sores, and fatigue.
