You should be aware of the symptoms of gallbladder cancer. If you notice any of them, you should consult your healthcare provider. While gallbladder cancer is relatively rare, it can be a serious disease. The best course of treatment is early detection and treatment of gallbladder cancer, so you should start taking steps to prevent it. These symptoms are described below. The first step in preventing gallbladder cancer is to maintain a healthy diet, avoiding red meat and processed foods.

The stage of gallbladder cancer is determined by the type of cancer that has spread to the surrounding organs. There are four stages of gallbladder cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Stage 0 is the earliest stage, while stage II describes cancer that has not spread beyond the gallbladder. The last stage is called stage IIIB, which is indicative of cancer that has spread beyond the gallbladder and has spread to nearby organs.

The next step in diagnosing gallbladder cancer is a diagnostic imaging procedure called a cholangiopancreatography. This procedure uses sound waves to identify abnormal areas of the gallbladder and other organs nearby. Ultrasound can also help doctors determine whether gallbladder cancer is present or not. If a biopsy is positive, surgery is recommended to remove the gallbladder and detect the spread of the cancer. This may be done through an open laparotomy or diagnostic laparoscopy. If a diagnosis is not possible, bile duct stents may be implanted during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

Although a gallbladder can aid digestion, it is not necessary to have one in healthy individuals. Fortunately, most gallbladder cancers are easily removed and are no longer a threat. Cancer can develop in different parts of the body, but it is most likely to start in the gallbladder. Most cases start in the gland-like cells that line the gallbladder. They are called adenocarcinomas. Stages of gallbladder cancer range from Stage 0 to Stage IV. The higher the stage, the more severe the condition.

A CT scan combines X-rays and other medical imaging techniques to make detailed pictures of organs and tissues inside the body. During a CT scan, a dye is injected into a vein to help organs show up in the images. An MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), uses computerized tomography to take detailed pictures of the organs inside the body. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography takes pictures of the bile ducts, which may be narrowed by gallbladder cancer.

Jaundice is another symptom of gallbladder cancer. The yellowing of the skin and eyes occurs when bilirubin is not disposed of by the liver. As a result, the bile can build up in the bloodstream and settle in various parts of the body. This can lead to jaundice, which is yellow color in the skin and in the white of the eye. The gallbladder can swell and spread to nearby areas of the liver. It can also cause light-colored or gray stools.

Generally speaking, gallbladder cancer doesn’t have any symptoms until it has spread to other organs and tissues. Gallstones, chronic inflammation and infection are among the risk factors, but they do not guarantee you will develop the disease. However, they can indicate early stage gallbladder cancer, which can be detected by accident. The risk of gallbladder cancer is greater in men than in women.

If you notice any of these signs, you should seek medical care immediately. If you notice the lump, you may have gallstones or an unrelated symptom. The lump may also be caused by a blocked bile duct. If the gallbladder is blocked, the pain may be constant and can lead to a feeling of being fatigued. Further, you may also experience unexplained abdominal pain.

Abdominal pain is another common symptom of gallbladder cancer. In addition to causing pain, the symptoms of gallbladder cancer can also prevent proper bile drainage. The gallbladder is often located in the upper right corner of the stomach. Therefore, you should have a physical exam performed to rule out other health issues causing abdominal pain. If the symptom persists, consult your healthcare provider to confirm if you have gallbladder cancer.

Your doctor may recommend chemotherapy or radiotherapy for advanced gallbladder cancer if it is discovered early enough. Chemotherapy may be a good option for people who suffer from symptoms of gallbladder cancer but has limited success. Chemotherapy may cause side effects, including fatigue, mouth sores, and hair loss. Radiation therapy may also cause skin irritation. Your doctor will advise you on how to cope with these side effects.
