The first thing you should do if you suspect colorectal cancer is to see a doctor. Most colon cancers are caused by polyps, so a simple screening could prevent the polyps from becoming cancer. However, if you notice blood in your stool, this can be an indicator of another condition, such as ulcers or Crohn’s disease. If you have high calcium levels, you should see your doctor immediately.

The symptoms of colorectal cancer are different for each person. They also vary according to the size and growth of the cancer. The signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer may be similar to those of other illnesses, such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or a gastrointestinal disorder. If you notice any of these symptoms, talk with your doctor and ask them to schedule a colonoscopy.

There are four stages of cancer. Stage 0 cancer is called carcinoma in situ, and is confined to the lining of the rectum or colon. This stage is easy to treat, since the cancer is still in its early stages. Stage 1 cancer has reached the wall of the colon but has not spread to nearby lymph nodes. Stage 2 cancer has spread to nearby organs. Stage 4 cancer has spread to distant sites.

The other two colorectal cancer symptoms are rectal bleeding and abdominal pain. Rectal bleeding is one of the most common signs of colorectal cancer and should not be ignored. Although colorectal cancer is often not detectable early, it is treatable. In fact, 90% of colorectal cancer cases can be successfully treated if diagnosed in their early stages. You should contact your doctor as soon as possible if you notice any of these symptoms.

Surgery for stage III colon cancer is often accompanied by chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can help improve symptoms and prolong the patient’s life. Adjuvant chemotherapy is used to treat the remaining cancer cells. Radiation therapy is another treatment option for colorectal cancer. This treatment has many side effects, and it may not be the right choice for everyone. It depends on the type of cancer and the location. It is also important to get an ultrasound if you suspect you have cancer.

Getting screened regularly for colorectal cancer is vital for catching the disease early. It is important to get screened regularly, particularly if you’re over forty. Exercise and healthy diet are also helpful. Eating fruit and vegetables, wheat bran, and avoiding processed meats and excess calories can help reduce your risk of developing colorectal cancer. This cancer is often curable if detected in time.

Although there are no symptoms of colorectal cancer, symptoms may not develop until the tumor has spread throughout the rectum. Screening for colorectal cancer is recommended for everyone aged 50 to 75. Patients should undergo fecal testing every two years to monitor for symptoms. A biopsy takes a few days to complete and is the only way to confirm if colorectal cancer is present or not.

In addition to the colon, colorectal cancer can also affect the way you pass stool. A colostomy, or new opening in the belly, is another common symptom of colorectal cancer. It can result in a new pouch, which sticks to the skin and collects stool. A colostomy is a permanent change to a person’s life, and many people feel stressed when dealing with the disease.

During the early stages, there are no symptoms. However, if you experience any of the symptoms described above, you should seek immediate medical attention. Colorectal cancer treatment options depend on the type of colorectal cancer and its stage. Treatments may involve colonoscopy, chemotherapy, or radiation. If detected and treated early, surgery is the best option. However, it is not possible to cure colorectal cancer.

In early stages of colon cancer, local excision may be sufficient to remove the cancer. Later, if the cancer has spread to the muscles surrounding the colon, the entire section of colon will have to be removed. The doctor may also remove nearby lymph nodes. After the surgery, the ends of the bowel are joined, and stomas may be needed to relieve the symptoms. If the cancer has spread to the anal area, a full colon resection may be required.

Bleeding while passing stools is another colorectal cancer symptom. Unlike in bleeding, blood in stools from higher in the colon is not bright red. It may be dark red or even black. Depending on the size of the tumor, the poo may look like tar. You should see a doctor right away to rule out other problems. However, if you experience any of these symptoms, your GP will probably suggest that you’ve got a colorectal cancer.
