If you suspect that you may have suffered a stroke due to a CVA accident, you should be aware of the signs of a possible stroke. Symptoms of a stroke include difficulty speaking, slurred words, and trouble understanding speech. A person may also feel numb and weak, and one side of the face may droop when they smile. In addition, you may notice that your vision has become blurred or double.

If you suspect that someone you know is suffering from a stroke, the first thing to do is to call 911 or the nearest emergency services. Getting medical help early can significantly reduce the chances of permanent brain damage or even death. It’s important to get to a hospital immediately and be aware of the signs and symptoms. The sooner you get help, the better. Depending on the type of stroke, the hospital may decide to use a different treatment option.

While there are certain signs to look out for, the majority of people with a stroke have no prior history. However, a TIA is usually a warning sign that an upcoming stroke could happen. The symptoms of a TIA can range from minor changes in your speech and mental acuity to the obvious loss of sensation and coordination. While a TIA doesn’t cause permanent damage, the symptoms of a stroke can be quite severe.

Those suffering from a CVA may require help with daily activities and home safety. A speech therapist may be needed to assist the person with communication issues. Other symptoms of a CVA include difficulty thinking or memory, trouble moving your body, and problems with muscles and joints. Some people may also have difficulty with eating and going to the bathroom. Fortunately, therapies can be given to help them function as best they can. The goal of stroke treatment is to minimize the chances of having another stroke in the future.

In addition to symptoms of a stroke, a TIA can occur when a small portion of the brain receives less blood than normal. In this case, a clot may break off in the heart, causing a bleed in the brain. Because a TIA is a symptom of a future stroke, it should be treated as a medical emergency. This condition may be a warning sign of a clot in the brain, or a sign of a previous head injury.

If a person experiences a TIA, he or she should go to the hospital immediately. There, a health care professional will check the patient’s condition with a CT scan, consult with a neurologist, stabilize the patient’s blood pressure and breathing, and begin treatment. If the clot is found, the health care professional will remove it. Once the clot is removed, the patient may be discharged from the hospital.

The carotid arteries are the arteries that carry blood to the brain. They can become blocked by blood clots and are treated by neurosurgeons. One surgical procedure is carotid endarterectomy, which requires an incision in the neck. Another procedure is carotid artery angioplasty and stenting, which is non-surgical and requires no incision. It is estimated that thirty percent of all strokes are preceded by TIAs. In many cases, the TIA happens days or weeks before the stroke.

In some cases, the TIA is a mini-stroke, called a transient ischemic attack, or TIA. Although symptoms are similar to a stroke, they will not go away unless medical attention is provided immediately. TIAs are a serious health concern and should not be ignored. While the symptoms of a TIA may not last long, they are a sign that a stroke is imminent. For this reason, it is crucial to get medical help as soon as possible.

If you have suffered a stroke in the past, you are at an increased risk for another one. Those with a family history of stroke are at an increased risk. Those with low income may also be more likely to suffer from a stroke. There are several ways to treat stroke, and the sooner you get medical attention, the better. In most cases, you must call 9-1-1 to get emergency medical attention. There is no better way to ensure your safety than to get the proper treatment.
