A biopsy is the next step in diagnosing gallbladder cancer. In a biopsy, tissue is removed from the affected area and examined under a microscope to determine the cause of your condition. For further information, see the Understanding Gallbladder Cancer fact sheet. To learn more about these tests, download it. The information in it is provided by medical professionals who are experienced in treating gallbladder cancer. You may want to consult with your doctor about any of the symptoms listed below.

The stage of the disease is an indication of how advanced the cancer is. Stage I describes cancer that has not spread to nearby lymph nodes or organs. Stage II describes cancer that has spread beyond the gallbladder and into the surrounding perimuscular connective tissue. Stage IIIA indicates that the cancer has spread beyond the gallbladder into nearby arteries, veins, or lymph nodes. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should visit your doctor as soon as possible.

If you experience persistent abdominal pain, you may have gallbladder cancer. While it is rare to develop gallbladder cancer, pain in the right upper abdomen is a sign that you may have gallbladder cancer. In addition to pain, you may also experience a general lack of appetite, fatigue, and jaundice. You may also experience nausea, vomiting, and stomach flu-like symptoms. If you experience any of these signs or symptoms, you should see a doctor as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis.

Your physician will order blood tests to determine the presence of gallbladder cancer and to rule out any other diseases. Your doctor may also run tests to assess your liver’s function and check for abnormalities. Some of these tests include a CT scan and an ultrasound. Among the tests that may be used to determine whether or not you have gallbladder cancer include:

Although gallbladder cancer doesn’t usually produce symptoms until it is advanced, the signs of the disease may be present earlier. Early diagnosis helps you treat the disease early and maximize your chances of recovery. If you have these symptoms, the most common symptom is abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant. If the tumor is blocking the bile duct, the pain can become more intense. You may also experience vomiting or diarrhea.

Acute abdominal pain is another common symptom of gallbladder cancer. While there are many causes for this condition, it is especially important to get a doctor’s help if you experience it more often than you do. The pain may indicate that the gallbladder is inflamed and causing bile duct blockages. A physician should evaluate your abdominal area for any swelling, tenderness, or fluid buildup to determine whether you have advanced gallbladder disease.

The risk of gallbladder cancer is increased in people with certain conditions, such as chronic long-term infections and a family history of the disease. While there is no specific way to prevent gallbladder cancer, you can lower your risk by eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly. A healthy diet includes cereals, whole grains, and at least two and a half cups of fruit and vegetables daily. Limit red meat and processed food.

Jaundice is another symptom of gallbladder cancer, but it can also be caused by other conditions. A person with hepatitis may experience this problem. People with gallstones or cholecystitis are at a greater risk for gallbladder cancer. Although it is rare, people with these conditions should seek medical attention immediately. Some other conditions can increase the risk of gallbladder cancer, including gallstones, bile duct abnormalities, or porcelain gallbladder.

Early symptoms of gallbladder cancer may be unnoticeable, and many patients with the disease will only notice these symptoms if they have been diagnosed with gallstones or gallbladder inflammation. However, early symptoms of gallbladder cancer may also be mistaken for those associated with another type of cancer. A doctor should conduct tests to rule out gallstones before you start noticing symptoms of gallbladder disease.

If the tumor has spread to other parts of the body, it is known as metastasis. The cells from the primary tumor travel through the blood and lymph system to other parts of the body. Once they have spread, the cancer will likely be present in other organs. The symptoms of gallbladder cancer include pain and swelling in the affected area. The symptoms of gallbladder cancer can range from a painful bile attack to a life-threatening cancer.
