If you experience any of these symptoms, you may have gallbladder cancer. Symptoms of gallbladder cancer include abdominal pain, which is most commonly felt in the upper right area. The other common symptom of gallbladder cancer is general loss of appetite. The yellowing of your skin and eyes is known as jaundice and may be present as a sign of a gallbladder tumor. In addition to the symptoms listed above, you may also experience abdominal swelling, nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, and severe itching.

The good news is that gallbladder cancer symptoms are not very subtle. You might only notice them when they occur with other signs and symptoms. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should see your healthcare provider as soon as possible. Early detection and treatment are the most important aspects of gallbladder cancer treatment. Unfortunately, this disease is relatively rare and cannot be detected early. If you suspect you may have gallbladder cancer, see your doctor immediately.

Some risk factors include bile duct abnormalities and obesity. Native and Mexican Americans have a higher risk than whites. Exposure to certain chemicals used in the textile and rubber industries may increase your risk of gallbladder cancer. Genetics are not a risk factor for gallbladder cancer. In addition to a family history of gallbladder cancer, you may have had a history of chronic inflammation in your gallbladder.

A patient with any of these symptoms should seek medical care immediately. In addition to gallbladder cancer, jaundice is a common sign of hepatitis. The symptoms of gallbladder cancer should prompt you to seek medical attention. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should download the free Ada app for Android or iOS and check with your doctor. If the symptoms are persistent, you should visit your doctor for evaluation.

In addition to symptoms, a doctor may recommend an MRI to diagnose gallbladder cancer. In this procedure, a thin, lighted tube called a laparoscope is inserted through an incision in the abdominal wall. Other instruments may be used to take tissue samples for biopsy. It can help determine if cancer has spread to other organs. When gallbladder cancer symptoms occur, your doctor may decide to remove the gallbladder.

The American Cancer Society has defined three stages of gallbladder cancer. Stage 0 describes the presence of cancer in the gallbladder without spreading to other organs or lymph nodes. Stage IIIA describes the presence of cancer beyond the gallbladder. In this case, the cancer has spread to the surrounding arteries and veins, lymph nodes, and distant organs. However, it is rare in most cases.

While there is no cure for gallbladder cancer, certain lifestyle choices can help reduce the risk of the disease. You should limit your intake of processed foods and consume at least two and a half cups of fruits and vegetables daily. And you should try to avoid red meat and processed foods. The five-year survival rate of gallbladder cancer has risen to a remarkable 98%. If you have any of these symptoms, be sure to contact a doctor immediately to get diagnosed.

Most people with gallbladder cancer don’t experience any symptoms at all. This makes it vital to monitor the progression of the disease carefully. The doctor may prescribe one or several treatments to help patients cope with the symptoms of gallbladder cancer. A doctor can suggest a specific treatment based on your individual needs and the stage of the disease. For example, chemotherapy may be indicated if the cancer has spread to other organs.

Patients with gallbladder cancer may also experience pain in the right upper quadrant. Sometimes, a person may have an abnormality known as the Courvoisier sign. Other signs of gallbladder cancer include hepatomegaly, an abdominal palpable mass, or bowel obstruction. Surgery may be necessary if the cancer has reached the metastatic stage. For Stage I and II cancer, surgery may be the only treatment. This treatment may involve the removal of the gallbladder and portal lymph nodes. However, it carries a high risk of morbidity and is similar to bile duct carcinoma.

Unfortunately, gallbladder cancer usually doesn’t have any symptoms until it’s advanced. Early symptoms may be the result of gallstones or inflammation of the gallbladder. Once the symptoms start appearing, a doctor may perform a biopsy to determine the type of cancer and to determine if there’s a need for treatment. You may be given alternative treatment options, but there’s no guarantee that they will help you overcome the disease.
