Some of the most common Gallbladder Cancer Symptoms are jaundice, abdominal swelling and pain, and yellowing of the eyes or skin. Although these symptoms are common for gallbladder cancer, they are often not the first signs of the disease. A physical examination will help detect gallbladder enlargement. Your doctor may also order imaging tests to determine the extent of your gallbladder tumor. You may feel bloated and experience nausea and vomiting. Other symptoms include abdominal pain and swelling, nausea and vomiting, abdominal swelling, and itchiness.

If your doctor suspects gallbladder cancer, they will order a CT scan and an ultrasound. Both tests can show a tumor. A CT scan uses X-rays to create detailed images of your organs, while an abdominal ultrasound uses sound waves to look inside your gallbladder. An ultrasound can also detect a polyp that could be cancerous. Once you’ve had an ultrasound, you’ll likely need an imaging test to confirm the diagnosis. An abdominal ultrasound is typically the first test performed to evaluate your gallbladder symptoms, while CT scans and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography can show a tumor.

The American Cancer Society has three stages of gallbladder cancer. Stage I is the earliest stage, and refers to tumors that have not spread beyond the gallbladder or to nearby lymph nodes or other organs. Stage IIIB is the most advanced form of the disease, and cancer has spread to at least three nearby organs or structures. It may also have spread to lymph nodes. However, it’s important to note that some cancers are more aggressive than others, and there may be symptoms that are a little bit vague.

A rash or infection on the skin is another sign of gallbladder cancer, though it is less likely to be malignant. While this condition can occur in a variety of ways, it’s important to remember that most health problems are easier to treat when they are detected in the early stages. For example, a rash on the arm, leg, or neck can occur in a small percentage of people. However, it can be a sign of other conditions, such as a virus or infection.

If you are concerned about gallbladder cancer, it’s important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. The five-year survival rate of gallbladder cancer is high and is 50 percent higher than that of other types of biliary cancer. You should also remember that gallbladder cancer is a rare disease, which is why your doctor should discuss all of your possible treatment options. A gallbladder cancer diagnosis is a serious decision and you should not ignore it.

Your doctor will likely suggest testing for your gallbladder using x-rays. Bilirubin is a blood protein that is elevated in the blood when you have gallbladder cancer, and a high bilirubin level may be a sign of liver damage. Additionally, bilirubin levels may be elevated when your doctor suspects you may have gallbladder cancer.

Although there is no cure for gallbladder cancer, you can reduce your risk by eating a healthy diet. Include cereals and whole grains, two and a half cups of fruits and vegetables each day, and limit red meat and processed foods. Avoiding obesity may reduce your risk, but it will not completely eliminate it. So, it’s important to make healthy food choices, and get regular checkups to make sure your gallbladder is functioning properly.

Your doctor may also use an MRI to make a more precise diagnosis. Your doctor may also perform a CT scan to confirm your diagnosis. During this test, your doctor will take a sample of tissue or fluid from your gallbladder. These cells are then examined under a microscope to determine the presence of cancer. Treatment for gallbladder cancer depends on the type of cancer, how far the cancer has spread, and how many symptoms you’re experiencing.

Depending on the stage of your disease, you may be able to have your gallbladder removed. If you have gallbladder cancer, your doctor may use surgery to remove the gallbladder and surrounding tissue. Depending on your stage of disease, you may also choose chemotherapy or radiation therapy to treat your gallbladder. However, these treatments are not always the best for gallbladder cancer patients.

In the United States, women are twice as likely as men to develop gallbladder cancer. The risk of gallbladder cancer is low if you don’t have any known risk factors, and if detected early, it may be curable. The American Cancer Society reports that gallbladder cancer is most often diagnosed in people who are in their 60s or older. The symptoms of gallbladder cancer can be similar to those of gallstones and can often be cured through removal of the gallbladder.
