If you are experiencing the following symptoms, you may be dealing with gastric cancer. While this disease is not curable, it can spread to nearby organs and lymph nodes. It can also spread to the tissue that lines the abdominal wall. Treatment options for this condition depend on the type and stage of the tumor, as well as the patient’s overall health and general condition. Surgery is one of the most common treatments, and the surgeon will remove part of the stomach, or the entire thing, depending on the extent of the cancer and the location of lymph nodes. Treatment may include chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

While symptoms vary, participants reported experiencing multiple symptoms before the diagnosis. The most common symptoms included dysphagia, regurgitation, and fatigue. Participants differed in their perception of the symptoms and their perception of the symptom. Most participants experienced at least one symptom and 112 reported multiple symptoms. Some people with suspected stomach cancer may also have an infection of H pylori, which increases the risk of developing stomach cancer. H pylori can cause chronic inflammation of the stomach. To test for this infection, a physician will often order a blood test and prescribe antibiotics. Imaging tests for gastric cancer can reveal if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. However, some patients may prefer a second opinion. Thankfully, most doctors welcome second opinions and most health insurance companies pay for them.

Family history of this disease may play a role. Some inherited cancers increase the risk of developing stomach cancer. Lynch syndrome and familial adenomatous polyposis are examples of inherited cancer. Certain mutations in the BRCA gene can also increase the risk of this type of cancer. Lastly, certain diets, including those low in vegetables and fruits, can increase the risk of developing gastric cancer. These are just a few of the common symptoms that you may experience.

Treatment for stomach cancer may involve surgery, but some doctors recommend other treatments before performing surgery. The doctors will first investigate the more common causes of the symptoms. While a cause of gastric cancer is not fully understood, research has identified several risk factors that increase the risk of developing the disease. Some people may need immediate treatment for their symptoms. If this is the case, you should seek the advice of a specialist. If there is no specific cause of stomach cancer, you may want to consider chemotherapy to shrink the tumor or to increase the patient’s chances of survival.

At the early stage of the disease, stomach tumors are so small that they don’t cause any symptoms. However, as the tumor grows, patients start experiencing difficulty swallowing because the esophagus narrows. These symptoms include indigestion, heartburn, choking, coughing, and vomiting. Patients also may experience involuntary weight loss. In addition to these symptoms, patients may also experience pain while eating.

Although stomach cancer often presents with no specific symptoms, some people may experience bleeding in the stomach. This bleeding can be hematemesis or melena, and it may even cause slow, chronic blood loss. These symptoms can be accompanied by anaemia. If the cancer has spread beyond the stomach, it may block the passage of food and cause vomiting. While these symptoms may be common, you should seek medical attention immediately if you have any of these signs.

The diagnosis of gastric cancer may be difficult to make because the median age at which the condition is diagnosed in the United States is 68 years. Only 2% of gastric cancer cases occur in patients younger than 35. However, these younger patients may be affected by a more aggressive variant of the disease, suggesting a genetic predisposition. Fortunately, the symptoms of gastric cancer are often non-life-threatening.
