You may be noticing some of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer but are unsure if they are related to this disease. Your GP can perform tests to assess your symptoms. If these tests do not exclude the possibility of cancer, you will be referred to a specialist. This specialist may be a surgeon or gastroenterologist. He will discuss your symptoms and treatment options with you and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team meeting. Treatment for pancreatic cancer will require regular visits to various health professionals. In addition to the GP, your doctor may also need to consult a dietician, endocrinologist, and radiology professionals.

Pain and jaundice are common pancreatic cancer symptoms. The pain associated with jaundice is generally minor. Although jaundice is painful, only about ten percent of individuals with pancreatic cancer report it as a pain-free symptom. The disease causes the skin and whites of the eyes to become yellow. Additionally, poo and urine will be lighter in colour. Jaundice is most common in people with pancreatic cancer that has spread to the head of the pancreas. This type of cancer blocks the bile duct, which carries bile to the small bowel. Because bile is excreted in the bloodstream, the pancreatic cancer patient has dark urine and stools.

Other symptoms of pancreatic cancer include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss. You may also experience jaundice if the cancer has spread to your liver. This can occur if you have recently lost weight. However, it is important to note that not all people will have all of these symptoms. You should seek treatment as soon as possible, since these symptoms do not necessarily indicate cancer of the pancreas.

Although most symptoms of pancreatic cancer are similar to those of other conditions, they may be hard to detect in the early stages. This is because patients may connect unrelated symptoms with a specific condition. You should therefore listen to your body’s signals and visit your doctor if you experience any new symptoms. Your doctor will perform various tests to determine whether you have pancreatic cancer. You should schedule a follow-up appointment if the symptoms persist or if they get worse over time.

Other common symptoms of pancreatic cancer include abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, and increased back pain. Pain in the back and stomach may be a sign of cancer, although other conditions may cause the pain. You should consult your GP if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. You should seek treatment if you suspect pancreatic cancer. It is important to note that pain can vary from person to person.

Surgery may be necessary for some patients with pancreatic cancer. A Whipple resection operation removes part of the pancreas and its surrounding tissue. The procedure also involves the removal of the gall bladder, small intestine, and bile ducts. However, in cases where you can’t identify pancreatic cancer from other symptoms, surgery may be the best course of action. If the symptoms are severe enough, your doctor will perform an MRI to confirm your diagnosis.

Early symptoms of pancreatic cancer may not be obvious. These symptoms can also be caused by other illnesses and should not be ignored. Your doctor should diagnose you immediately if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. One of the most common symptoms is jaundice, a yellow or dark yellow skin color. Jaundice is often accompanied by dark urine or light stools. Patients suffering from this condition may also experience itching and abdominal discomfort.

The stage of pancreatic cancer you are diagnosed with will determine the extent of the disease. Earlier stage pancreatic cancer is usually localized. Stage 2 and stage 3 pancreatic cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes and distant organs. However, stage 4 pancreatic cancer has spread to other organs. This type of cancer rarely causes symptoms until it has spread and reached distant organs. The prognosis for stage four pancreatic cancer is less favorable than that for stage I.

You may also wish to speak to a support group. The ability to share your fears and concerns with other people affected by pancreatic cancer can be immensely helpful in the emotional and mental health of a patient. Pancreatic cancer Action also publishes patient information booklets that can help patients understand the symptoms of pancreatic cancer and possible treatments. There are many resources available online to help you cope with your condition. But remember to stay informed!
