The most important early warning sign of pancreatic cancer is new onset of diabetes, especially among non-obese people. Another early sign is the sudden onset of a new prescription for diabetes medication. Dark urine indicates high levels of bile in the blood, while light-colored stools may indicate blockage of a bile duct. Patients with tumors in the head of the pancreas will usually experience more visible symptoms.

Pain is the most common symptom of pancreatic cancer, causing approximately 70% of patients to seek medical attention. This pain may be centered in the abdomen, or it can be a radiating pain that spreads to the back. Often, the pain will be worse after eating and when lying down. It may also come and go at regular intervals. Pancreatic cancer may not cause noticeable pain until it has spread to distant organs.

Because pancreatic cancer does not usually present symptoms in its early stages, it may take a while to diagnose it. Patients may connect unrelated symptoms to other conditions. Fortunately, there are ways to determine the presence of a pancreatic tumor in the early stages. Diagnostic tests will confirm the diagnosis. You may also experience other symptoms that are unrelated to pancreatic cancer, such as fatigue, abdominal pain, or abdominal pain.

Some of the other common pancreatic cancer symptoms include constipation, diarrhea, or a mixture of both. Diarrhoea can be a sign of pancreatic cancer, as the inability of the pancreas to secrete enzymes causes malabsorption. Undigested food passes through the digestive tract very quickly, causing constipation. Pain medications may also slow down the passage of food through the intestines. Patients should contact their doctors if they have persistent symptoms of diarrhoea or constipation.

Another risk factor for pancreatic cancer is exposure to certain chemicals. Heavy exposure to chemicals at work may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer. Age is a risk factor, as people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are usually older than 45. In addition, people with chronic pancreatitis have a high lifetime risk of developing pancreatic cancer. Tobacco use and eating too much red meat and saturated fat may increase your risk.

Some patients are able to survive pancreatic cancer without undergoing surgery. The disease may be difficult to detect in the early stages, but early diagnosis is the best way to improve your chances of survival. Pancreatic cancer symptoms may include pain, vomiting, abdominal cramps, or weight loss. In severe cases, pancreatic cancer may lead to diabetes. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Jaundice is another symptom of pancreatic cancer. While this is usually painless, it can occur even when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Jaundice is a yellowish appearance of the skin and eyelids, and urine and poo may also be darker than normal. Pancreatic cancer is more likely to cause jaundice if it blocks the bile duct. The ducts carry bile to the small intestine, and when pancreatic cancer blocks this duct, bile is deposited in the bloodstream. This is what causes dark urine and stools.

The symptoms of pancreatic cancer are similar for men and women, but there are also many different causes for similar symptoms. If you have one of these symptoms, you should schedule an appointment with your doctor to confirm if it is cancer or something else. If you develop a jaundice, it is important to visit your doctor to rule out other conditions that could be causing your symptoms. In some cases, a person may also develop hepatitis or gallstones.

When a tumor blocks the bile duct, the gallbladder may fill with excess bile, causing it to swell. Imaging tests may also detect tumors in the liver. Pancreatic cancer is also linked with diabetes. This is more common in older patients. The symptoms of pancreatic cancer can be subtle or more noticeable. If you suspect that you are suffering from pancreatic cancer, make an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible.

The most common pancreatic cancers are classified into two types: exocrine and neuroendocrine. The former is more common and often has an advanced stage. The latter, however, is much less common and has a better prognosis. If you are a smoker, this type of cancer is more likely to develop. For people who are overweight, smoking, and an unbalanced diet may increase the risk of developing pancreatic cancer.
