The first symptom is low-grade, persistent fever. This is also known as “fever of unknown origin” (FUO). Fever that has not been attributed to a known cause after three visits to a healthcare provider is considered low-grade. The next stage is stage III, which includes large blood vessels and bones. Finally, stage IV includes tumors that have spread to the bones or lymph nodes. If you have persistent pain or fever, it is important to seek medical attention.

There are four stages of liver cancer, including early stage (stage I), stage II (stage A), and stage IV (stage IV). In stage I, the tumor is only a few millimeters in size and hasn’t spread to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body. In stage II, the cancer hasn’t spread to lymph nodes or bones. In stage III, the tumor is larger than five centimeters in diameter and has spread to large blood vessels and bones. In stage IV, the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, bones, or a large blood vessel.

Other symptoms include fatigue, aching liver, and nausea and vomiting. Liver cancer patients often feel isolated. Talking about their condition may not feel comfortable, so it’s important to seek support from loved ones or other health professionals. Support groups are great for this. They provide emotional and practical support for people with similar experiences. These groups are also excellent places to find information on liver cancer. You can also contact the Cancer Council for more information on liver cancer and treatment options.

If you experience any of these symptoms, you should seek medical advice immediately. Liver cancer symptoms may be the result of another condition, such as an infection. If the symptoms are persistent, you should seek medical attention immediately. Further tests may also be needed. If the tumor has spread, you may need a liver biopsy to diagnose the cancer. If the cancer has spread and is causing symptoms, your doctor will perform a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.

The early detection of liver cancer is critical to a patient’s life, and the earlier the disease is detected, the better the prognosis. In fact, doctors regularly monitor people at risk of liver cancer to detect it before it progresses. Liver function abnormalities may be revealed through blood tests and imaging studies, and a biopsy may be required to confirm the diagnosis. This procedure is the most accurate way to detect liver cancer.

Surgery is another option for treating liver cancer. It is carried out under local anaesthetic, so that the patient is awake but the area is numbed. Sometimes, doctors will use sorafenib, a drug which disrupts the blood supply to the tumour. However, this drug is not routinely available on the NHS because of its high cost and limited benefit. This drug is not suitable for people with advanced liver cancer.

The most common liver cancer symptoms are pain in the upper abdomen and swelling of the spleen. The pain in these areas can be caused by the liver tumor pressing on other structures and nerves in the right side of the abdomen. Liver cancer symptoms can be felt when you press lightly on the rib cage. Additionally, a yellow mass can be felt in the lower abdomen. Further, a yellow pigment may appear on your skin.

Various blood tests are also performed to diagnose the condition. Blood tests include blood clotting, the proportion of red and white blood cells, and viral hepatitis testing. Further tests may be required if you have liver cancer. The doctors can also perform a CT scan. These tests are not only essential for diagnosing liver cancer but also for monitoring its treatment. If the condition does not improve, they may recommend further tests.

Although liver cancer symptoms may vary from person to person, they are recognizable in many cases. It is best to speak with a doctor to learn more about these symptoms and determine if they’re indicative of liver cancer. Earlier diagnosis can improve your chances of a good outcome and a longer life. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. You can also request screening tests and other procedures to check for liver tumors.

Another type of liver cancer is called secondary liver cancer. It began in another part of the body, such as the colon or the breast. Secondary cancer is usually not found in its early stages, but it spreads from other organs and has the same symptoms as primary liver cancer. It can be of any type, including cancers of the liver. And, depending on the type, these symptoms can be confusing. If you suspect you may have cancer in the liver, it is crucial to seek medical attention immediately.
