A tumor of the blood vessels is a form of vascular malformation that involves an abnormal network of blood vessels. They can form in a variety of locations, including the skin and in internal organs. These tumors are typically benign, but can cause serious symptoms if left untreated. Symptoms may include chest pain and swelling. However, these types of symptoms may also be caused by other conditions. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should see your doctor. He can help you determine the cause and recommend treatments.

Tumors of the blood vessels can be found in many parts of the body, but they most often appear on the skin. The most common are hemangiomas. These tumors occur when the cells that line the blood vessels multiply at an abnormal rate. Some hemangiomas may be disfiguring, but most are noncancerous. Depending on the type of lesion, treatment will vary. For instance, hemangiomas on the skin can be treated with steroid medications. In more severe cases, surgery might be required.

Hemangiomas are usually red or blue in color and are painless. In more severe cases, the lesion may ulcerate and bleed. There are several different types of hemangiomas, and some can occur in combination with other rare diseases. Typically, these tumors grow slowly and may affect other tissues. Sometimes, the lesion may spread to the brain or lungs.

Angiosarcoma is another type of cancer that develops in the blood vessels. This disease occurs most often in adults, although it can also occur in infants. As with hemangiomas, angiosarcomas can affect the heart and other organs. Most angiosarcomas form in the right upper chamber of the heart. Alternatively, they can also appear in the pericardium, which is the sac that surrounds the heart. Often, these tumors can squeeze the pericardium, which can affect heart function.

The most common form of hemangioma is a capillary hemangioma. The capillaries in a capillary hemangioma are normally in diameter and are tightly packed. Other types of hemangioma include lobular and pyogenic granulomas. While lobular hemangiomas are often found in infants, they can also occur in children.

Cavernous hemangiomas are more severe than hemangiomas, and they are usually formed in the linings of blood vessels. These tumors may be present anywhere on the body, but they are most common in the neck and head. Occasionally, they can occur in the bones. Depending on the location of the tumor, the tumor may cause pain or swelling.

Brain vascular malformations are abnormal collections of blood vessels that can interfere with the normal flow of blood to and from the brain. They can result in a variety of symptoms, but they can also affect the way you see and think. Some people with brain vascular malformations have no noticeable symptoms, but it is possible that they could experience pain or changes in vision.

Another cancer that is caused by abnormalities in the lining of blood vessels is hemangioendothelioma. This tumor affects the lungs, musculoskeletal system, and lymph nodes. People who are at risk of developing this tumor are those with HIV/AIDS, as well as those who have a history of lung or spleen cancer.
