Cancer ribbons often come in purple hues, but what exactly do they mean? Purple ribbons signify several different types of cancer, including pancreatic, testicular, esophageal, lung, and stomach cancers. Each type of cancer has a unique color, which can help identify it in the body. Below we will look at the meaning of the different purple cancer ribbon colors. These colors are indicative of the type of cancer they represent.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which was founded by Pamela Acosta Marquardt, also has purple ribbons on its website. The color purple has since been adopted by several cancer support groups. In contrast, carcinoid cancer advocates chose a zebra-striped ribbon, which is a reference to common illnesses. This color symbolizes the disease that affects the pancreas and is named after the animal it resembles.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, which is held in November, celebrates people with pancreatic cancer and supports research. The Purple Ribbon is a tribute to Rose Schneider, a woman who died of pancreatic cancer. Rose’s daughter founded PanCan to support those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Since pancreatic cancer is difficult to diagnose in its early stages, the ribbon is also a symbol of support for those who are affected by it.

Cancer ribbon colors have expanded beyond the breast cancer color and now represent many different types of cancer. Rather than a specific color for a specific cancer, ribbons are now more generic and are not associated with a particular month. Sadly, one in three people will develop some type of cancer in their lifetime. It is the second leading cause of death worldwide, and accounts for 25 percent of all deaths. If you are interested in learning more about cancer awareness month, check out the chart below.

The Purple Mangosteen contains numerous active ingredients and bioactives that regulate various pathways in the body. It has been shown to affect PI3K-AKT-MTOR Signaling and PI3K-AKT-MOR signaling. Because these pathways affect cancer growth, spread, and death, Purple Mangosteen can affect cancers at various levels. It also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by altering the activity of genes involved in PI3K-AKT-MTOR signaling.
